JAKARTA, KAMIS - Celah keamanan telah ditemukan pada browser web teranyar Firefox 3 hanya berselang lima jam sejak diluncurkan. Kelemahan pertama ditemukan perusahaan pengembang software keamanan Tipping Point dan telah dilaporkan kepada pihak Mozilla.
Tipping Point menilai kelemahan tersebut termasuk dalam klasifikasi genting. Namun, penyusup hanya dapat menggunakannya jika pengunjung web meng-klik halaman web tertentu yang akan menjalankan kode jahat (malicious code). Hal serupa juga menjadi masalah penting di web browser sebelumnya Firefox 2.0.
Selama Mozilla masih mencari cara untuk menutup kelemahan tersebut, penjelasan rinci mengenai kelemahan tersebut tidak akan diumumkan secara detail kepada publik. Begitu solusinya ditemukan, Tipping Point akan memberikan penjelasan di web resminya.
Kelemahan tersebut ditemukan dalam program rutin Tipping Point yang disebut Zero Day Initiative.
